Nicky Egan, originally from Philadelphia, spreads her love for music through a sound that blends elements of funk r&b and rock.

Phillyburbs.com describes Egan as a “soul songstress”. With her influences ranging from Etta James, Sarah Vaughn and Janis Joplin, to The Beatles, James Brown and Joe Cocker, Egan drives her performances with memorable songs, young energy and a positive message. Since Nicky Egan formed her band in 2007, the soulful quintet has played throughout the east coast, including a trip to Penn State University where they played for a crowd of over 10,000 in an effort to help raise funds for pediatric cancer. In the summer of 2009 the band travelled West, where Egan and the boys played six shows throughout the Los Angeles area, including two electrifying performances at the Whisky-A-Go Go. They’ve opened for other soul acts such as London’s Sam Bradley, and California’s Angel Taylor. Currently stationed in Boston, Nicky recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. Her band is entertaining crowds between Philadelphia and Boston in venues such as World Cafe Live, the Tin Angel, NYC’s S.O.B.’s, and the House of Blues Boston. In a recent article on social media website, sumofchange.com, Danny Power describes the groups live performances, “Nicky and her band definitely know how to put on a fun and interesting show. They obviously know each other very well, both on and off the bandstand, and perform very well together.” Egan is in the midst of recording her debut album, to be released this year. It is expected to embrace a collection of soul, pop and r&b.
